BAKER & GODWIN, Printers, 1 Spruce Street, N. Y, INTRODUCTION. MANY circumstances combine to multiply in modern times the number of overruled cases, beyond the proportion of the increased number of reports; and this renders it more than ever indispensable to the practitioner to be able readily to ascertain of any given decision whether or not it has been overruled, denied, or doubted. To this end is the present volume respectfully submitted to the profession. It is based upon the collection of overruled cases published by Professor Greenleaf, and comprises all the cases to be found in his work and upwards of fifteen hundred cases added by the present compiler. The last edition of Professor Greenleaf's work, was published so far back as 1840, and has long since been out of print. |
