Let your body, worn with suffering, teach you to hope for the time when "He shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto His glorious body."

Look forward in hope to the time when "God shall wipe away all tears from your eyes, and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things shall have passed away."

The more your soul increases in holiness, and the more you are conformed to the image. of Christ, the brighter will your hope become; till from "the full assurance of hope" in this world, you pass to its glorious fulfilment in the next, for "the righteous hath hope in his death."

Prayers.

"GIRD up the loins of your mind, be sober,

and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ."

Let us pray.

REMEMBER not, Lord, our offences, nor

the offences of our forefathers; neither

take Thou vengeance of our sins: spare us,

good Lord, spare Thy people, whom Thou hast redeemed with Thy most precious blood,

and be not angry with us for ever.

Lord, have mercy upon us.

Christ, have mercy upon us.

Lord, have mercy upon us.
Our Father, &c. Amen.

O Lord, save this Thy servant.
Which putteth his hope in Thee.
Send him help from Thy holy place.
And evermore mightily defend him.

O Lord, comfort him as he lieth sick upon his bed.

And make Thou all his bed in his sickness.
Lord, hear our prayers.

And let our cry come unto Thee.

LORD, look down from heaven, behold,

visit, and relieve this Thy servant. Look upon him with the eyes of Thy mercy, give him comfort and sure confidence in Thee, defend him from the danger of the enemy, and keep him in perpetual peace and safety; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

ALMIGHTY and everlasting God, give unto

us the increase of faith, hope, and charity,

and that we may obtain that which Thou dost promise, make us to love that which Thou dost command; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

THOU in whom our fathers hoped, and Thou didst deliver them, awaken in the heart of this Thy servant, by the power of the Holy Ghost, such a lively hope of future glory, as may enable him to cleanse himself from all filthiness of flesh and spirit, and to perfect holiness in the fear of Thee. Let him so fix his hope upon Thee, the Rock of ages, that nothing may have power to shake it, but that it may be to him an anchor of the soul, by which he may safely outride all the waves and storms of this troublesome world; and do Thou at length bring him in peace unto the haven where he would be; for the sake and through the merits of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

THE Almighty Lord, who is a most strong

tower to all them that put their trust in Him, to whom all things in heaven, in earth, and under the earth do bow and obey, be now and evermore thy defence, and make thee

know and feel, that there is none other Name under heaven given to man, in whom and through whom thou mayest receive health. and salvation, but only the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

NTO God's gracious mercy and protection

we commit thee. The Lord bless thee, and keep thee. The Lord make His face to shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee. The Lord lift up His countenance upon thee, and give thee peace, both now and evermore. Amen.

SECTION VII.

CHARITY.-LOVE TO GOD.

WHEN We have passed from death unto judgment, and stand before Him who searcheth the heart, we shall have to answer for ourselves with regard to the first and great commandment, viz. the love of God.

God alone deserves our highest love, for He alone is perfect and unchangeable: but He will not accept a divided heart.

Have you then loved the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your mind, and with all your soul, and with all your strength?

Under this head are included all the duties which we owe to God, for "This is the love of God, that we keep His commandments."

Has, then, your love to God led you to fear His displeasure above all things; to trust in
