FORMS OF INFIDELITY.

The three important subjects-the existence of God, the immortality of the soul; and the freedom of the will, which such would-be leaders as Herbert Spencer, Tyndall, Huxley, Clifford, Harrison, Clodd, Grant Allen, Ingersoll, and a number of others, deny, have been thoroughly dealt with by Catholic writers. The works of Mivart and Lilly, the Stonyhurst manuals of philosophy, the volumes by Hettinger, Lucas, Picard, Gerard, Ward, etc., will supply an abundance of forcible arguments to overcome even the "pontiffs of the non-theistic heirarchy." The following will help refute individual agnosticism.

MR. GRANT ALLEN, Sir J: LUBBOCK and others have been
subjected to a careful examination by Father Gerard. His
little brochures read like a novel, so pleasantly have they
been written. A series of articles on evolution appeared
in The Month from his pen.
The reader must not imagine that references on these subjects
have been exhausted. Any number of others may be found
by consulting Poole's index, or the indices of such maga-
zines as The Dublin Review and Catholic World.
