"Zunächst wird in der Anecdote, welche Petrarca Rer. memor., ii, 4, von Dante und Cane erzählt, die Lesart der Drucke, welcher auch Papanti (Dante secondo la trad. e il novell., p. 32) folgt, nach den Hss. dahin verbessert, dass parumper contumacior statt parum per contumaciam, etc., fastidiosis statt studiosis hergestellt wird, womit jede Missbilligung von Dante's Charakter von Seiten Petr. wegfällt. Ferner wird gegenüber geäusserten Zweifeln die Möglichkeit der Thatsache erwiesen, dass der Vater Petrarca's, wie dieser behauptet, zugleich mit Dante verbannt worden sei. Endlich veröffentlicht Hortis nach einer im Besitze von Carlo Morbis [read Morbio] in Mailand befindlichen Hs. ein, wenn auch bereits erwähntes, doch ungedruckt gebliebenes Gedicht zum Lobe Dante's, welches seine Ueberschrift dem Petrarca zuschreibt, 26 Hexameter, die noch mehrfacher Emendation bedürfen, aber auch emendirt ihrem Verfasser nicht grosse Ehre machen."-Zeitschrift für romanische Philologie, Bd. i, Bibliographie 1875-76, p. 17.
