SHAKESPEARE, 1623.

Just published PART I., containing the whole of the COMEDIES, price 10s. 6d.,
in appropriate binding,

(82)

A FAC-SIMILE REPRINT OF THE FIRST EDITION OF SHAKESPEARE.

"THE FAMOUS FOLIO OF 1623."

In the production of this Reprint the endeavour has been, that as regards general appearance, the contents, and the peculiarities of each page, it may be truly said,

"One sand another
Not more resembles"

than it the original, alteration being alone in respect to size; so that it may be placed uniformly on the shelves with all good Library Editions of the Poet.

For opinions of this work, attention is directed to Notices in the Times, Dec. 28; Globe, Jan. 16; Press, Jan. 18; Notes and Queries, Jan. 18; Daily Telegraph, Jan. 20; Publishers' Circular, Jan. 17; Morning Post, Jan. 18; and the Athenæum of Jan. 25; which latter periodical bears unwilling testimony, it would appear, to the exactitude with which the VERY ERRORS of the Original Folio have been followed, by accusing the publisher of a gross misprint at pages 37 and 38, whereas, by a reference to the folio of 1623, or to Lowndes's Bibliographical Manual, the assumed error would only prove that the greatest success had attended the reproduction of even misprints made in 1623.

To be completed in Three Parts, each at the same price. There will also be impressions in Royal 8vo. and in Folio.

A very limited Edition of each Play that was printed before the Folio of 1623 will be published separately, to match with those "Early Quartos."
